Georgina Giebner
I’m a specialist cancer, rehabilitation & gastrointestinal dietitian with many years of experience in dietetics, nutritional treatment and preventative nutritional counselling. I have a special interest and strong background in providing support for people struggling with gastrointestinal side effects from cancer treatments, for example, side effects following pelvic radiotherapy (PRD or pelvic radiation disease), chemotherapy, immunotherapy and/or surgery. I have training and experience supporting those with neuroendocrine cancer/neoplasms (NEN or NET).
As well as this I have over 20 years of experience with chronic gastroenterological conditions such as bowel surgery, diverticular disease, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, gallstones (and post cholecystectomy) and food allergy/intolerance. I have completed training to assess and support those with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), pancreatic insufficiency and bile acid diarrhoea/malabsorption.
I have success supporting gastrointestinal issues such as constipation, diarrhoea, swallow problems (dysphagia), wind (and/or excess burping), heartburn, acid reflux, bloating, cramping (abdominal pain) or stoma output problems with a holistic dietary approach. Working with your medical team/Doctors if incidated.
Having experience working with clients with chronic diseases like thyroid disorders (hypothyroid, Hashimoto's), diabetes, high cholesterol, gout, liver disease, pancreatitis, heart diseases and auto immune conditions enables me to support you with multiple conditions or just one thing.
I work in all areas of nutritional rehabilitation and prehabilitation to optimise recovery and fitness. Including supporting people recover from Covid or long Covid. I am also trained to use personalised nutrition (coupled with nutrigenomics/nutrigenetics) to provide individual DNA based assessments. I can also arrange gut health assessments including microbiome stool analysis reports and recommendations.
I have taught and coached extensively, including planning and delivery of wellbeing programs and brief intervention support across all parts of the lifecycle (including pregnancy and menopause). I provide telehealth services nationwide and internationally.
Other areas of practice include skin and hormonal health (including PCOS, acne, rosacea, psoriasis).
I run a clinic in Haddington, East Lothian for any face to face requests.
I can provide consultation for those with insurance or self funding. Please enquire.
