BDA joins sister health unions in accepting pay offer in Northern Ireland

26 February 2020
Following our recent consultative ballot, BDA members in NI health and social care have voted overwhelmingly to accept the pay offer with a result of 99% in favour.

Annette Mansell-Green, Director of Trade Union and Public Affairs at the BDA said “we are delighted that at long last our hard working members will receive the recognition that they deserve. Dietitians are an integral part of the health service, delivering expert care to patients, and have been under valued for too long. It has been a fight to achieve pay parity with our members in England and one which we could not have won without the determination of our members and the solidarity of our sister unions. I hope that we can see swift implementation of the agreement and that our members can receive the pay due to them without further delay.”

There is still work to be done to ensure that improvements are made to the working lives of members, and we will continue to press for positive change especially the priority issue of safe staffing.
