About us
The BDA Forensic Sub-Group started as a specialist interest group. In October 2024 it became an official sub-group as part of the Mental Health Specialist Group. We are excited to join the BDA in the hope we can better support our members and grow our network.
Aims:
- Provide a network for dietitians working in forensics, and promote the work that we do, growing visibility of dietetics in these settings
- Provide an opportunity for peer supervision and CPD relevant to forensics
- Support members to develop clinical and managerial skills in this unique area to optimise staff retention
- Develop patient, staff and student training resources relevant to forensics
- Develop policies and guidance to be used within forensic dietetics to enhance evidence-based practice in forensics
Objectives:
- To create a regular meeting schedule for members
- To set up and centralise a system for members to communicate and share ideas and questions
- To ensure regular committee meetings take place
- Set up task groups within the membership to action and achieve goals
- To link in with other sub-groups/special interest groups to share knowledge, resources and prevent duplication
Who is the Forensic Sub-Group for?
Anyone working in forensics or who has an interest in the area is welcome to come and join us. Student members are of course very welcome.
You can join us here. Membership with the Mental Health Specialist Group costs just £20 per year and you can then add us as a free sub-group.
