The BDA Honours recognise and reward BDA members who go above and beyond, those who inspire others and are making a real difference.
Fellowship is the highest honour which the Association can bestow upon a member in recognition of their achievements. Fellowship of the Association was first awarded in 1979 and more than 100 Fellowships have been awarded since. Fellowship is nominated by peers and reflects outstanding personal commitment and exceptional contribution to the profession of dietetics and to the activities of the BDA.
The Professional Achievement honour, launched in 2023, is given in recognition of outstanding personal commitment and exceptional contributions to the profession of dietetics.
Honorary Associate is bestowed upon an individual who is not a member of the BDA and has made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of the dietetic profession and/or to the activities of the BDA.
The Ibex is an honour created to thank any member of the BDA who has shown significant personal commitment and contributions to the profession either locally, regionally or in a dietetic specialism.

Miranda has received the Professional Achievement honour in recognition of outstanding personal commitment and exceptional contributions in the field of gastroenterology dietetics.
Azmina Govindji received a Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding personal commitment to championing the voice of dietetics and the BDA.
Professor Simon Langley-Evans received the Honorary Associate honour, in recognition of his outstanding personal commitment to education, research and publishing in nutrition and dietetics and exceptional contribution to the Association and the profession as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
Barbara is a true inspiration and is committed to supporting the development of the workforce though her leadership of national guidance development and post-registration education.
Lisa Cooke has been awarded the Professional Achievement Honour, in recognition of for her outstanding personal commitment and achievements in the field of paediatric nutrition and dietetics.
Nicki has shared her knowledge and experience in renal dietetics through her consistent involvement in the BDA Renal Nutrition Specialist Group postgraduate and clinical update courses and contributions to the work of the Renal Association.
